Who We Are

The strong partnership Blue Room has formed with its diverse client base is largely due to the comprehensive services the company provides. From concept development to final delivery, all of the resources one could need can be found in house. That includes: animation, visual effects, live action production, script writing, editorial, and an in-depth understanding of branding strategies. Perhaps that's why Blue Room has done everything from designing the entire look of a network to producing Super Bowl spots.
The steady success of the company also has a lot to do with Blue Room's ability to attract major league talent. The current team is comprised of industry-tested designers, producers and editors who all enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.

Chris Gargani
CEO / Exec. Producer

As the CEO of Blue Room, and the father of two little girls, Chris Gargani knows how to get things done- without making anyone cry. He got his start working in radio at WPLJ/WABC and DJing on the side. One of his own songs even spent 13 weeks on the top-10 Billboard Magazine's charts. Chris then moved to Sony Music Studios where he met Blue Room co-founder Brian Aumueller. Since then, Chris has overseen national ad campaigns, branding initiatives, and a colossal load of design work, winning a fair number of awards along the way. His creative ingenuity and business acumen have made him a friend among clients, a successful business owner and a really busy guy. Somehow, though, he still finds time to support The Make A Wish Foundation and belong to a variety of professional organizations including ASCAP, AMP (The Association of Music Producers) and the North American branch of ProMax/BDA.
Brian Aumueller
Creative Director

Brian Aumueller is fond of hats. Luckily, he gets to wear a lot of them as both the creative director and sound design wizard at Blue Room. A classically trained pianist with a degree in music composition from Ithaca College, he has written and produced music for television, film and numerous live venues. Brian is a member of both ASCAP and AMP (The Association of Music Producers) and has composed a slew of Telly award-winning original scores and a #1 hit in the New York City dance charts. His clients know him to be a virtual alchemist of the media world, spinning magic into everything he produces and directs. Most recently, Brian was the Creative Director for The History Channel Refresh, leading the graphics team of designers, illustrators, and animators from beginning concept to final product.
Dave Gargani
Editorial Director

Dave Gargani is a master editor with a decade of experience working with top-notch clients like the NFL, ESPN and the Independent Film Channel. He has numerous awards to his name, including an online editor credit on "Metallica's Some Kind of Monster" which won both a national Independent Spirit Award and a British BFCA for Best Documentary. An all around good egg, Dave turns into a ruthless executioner in the editing room, discarding clutter and distilling each project down to its purest form. His devoted work on a wide range of features, commercials, music videos, network promos and documentaries has earned him client accolades, an impressive reel and a black belt in editing. That is, if there was such a thing.

Lauren Muir
Sr. Producer

After leaving her hometown in Northern California, Lauren studied in Spain, taught English in Argentina and completed degrees in Visual Arts and Spanish Literature at the University of California, San Diego. While in school, she worked as a children's fencing instructor. It seems safe to say that anyone who can handle twenty kids with swords can probably handle anything. Proving this, she's produced big-budget shoots for clients like L'Oreal and J.P. Morgan Chase, written two seasons of the TV show "Can't Get a Date" for VH1, created countless spots and promos and has become Blue Room's resident queen bee of anything requiring production.
Steve Harper
Art Director

Born in the heart of Texas, this New York transplant took a circuitous route through the hazardous wiles of academia, earning an MFA in Studio Art and an MS in Digital Design along the way. Before joining the good folks at Blue Room, Steve was a Sullivan Visiting Artist in Digital Media at Wesleyan University and taught digital studio and design courses at the University of Connecticut and Pace University in Manhattan while freelancing for clients like PBS, MTV, CBS Sports and Spike. Now, as Blue Room's Lead Designer, this pixel ranger is designing his way to victory by wrangling redesigns, graphics packages, and promos while executing big pitches. Recent accolades include a Bronze and Silver Telly wins, and a 2007 Promax/BDA Gold Award for Art Direction.
Paul Waszak
Art Director

Having a passion for the arts his entire life, Paul Waszak first studied Fine Art at Montclair State University and eventually graduated with a BFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. After completing school, he immediately jumped into the world of broadcast design, working with clients such as HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax. Paul eventually set up his own studio within Blue Room and bounced between personal and Blue Room projects for several years, earning a number of awards along the way. He then went to work as a Creative Director at Poolside Design where he attracted clients like Fuse, Nickelodeon and the Barack Obama campaign. Paul’s return to Blue Room must mean that he must really, really likes us. That, or he's actually a human-shaped boomerang who draws, surfs and likes to ride bikes. Either way, we're glad to have him back.
Chieh Yen
Sr. Designer

After completing a BA in Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University in England, Chieh moved stateside to attend the Pratt Institute for an MFA in Computer Graphics. Soon after, he landed at mad.house and earned both a Telly award and a silver Davey award for art direction. Blue Room scooped him up in 2007 and he's been hard at work ever since.

Grace Kim
Assoc. Producer

Grace Kim grew up in the suburbs of New Jersey watching an unhealthy amount of TV, painting in the laundry room, and popping tar bubbles on the streets. All of these favorite pastimes contributed to her BFA in film/animation/video from the Rhode Island School of Design. She comes to Blue Room with several years of experience from MTV, NBC, and CNBC, where she was the first-ever associate producer for the network’s promo department. She is now fully broken in and ready to take on any challenge that comes along.
Shaun Sindelman
Editor

Shaun Sindelman is a Brooklyn native who graduated with a BFA in Film and Video from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Before coming to Blue Room, he worked at Left/Right, Slam Media Group and as an Assistant Editor on the Showtime TV series "This American Life" as well as on several MTV properties including "Made," "Room Raiders" and "I Pity the Fool." With all that experience, he's able to handle anything we throw his way.
